As you may remember, we published an article previously to explain what the Best Sellers Rank (BSR) on Amazon is, and also tips to improve BSR. In this article, we will talk about how and where you can find the lists for these best seller items and how you can use these lists and benefit from them for your product search.
The good news is that Turbo Piranha has just started to publish Amazon Best Seller Items lists for popular categories, and each of these lists have up to 500,000 ASINs. Currently, we publish these lists for 8 Amazon marketplaces: USA, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
Every week, we are collecting the best selling items of each category and if there is 100,000 or more items which have a best seller ranking, we publish a list for that category. If there is not enough item on that category, we don’t publish a list for that. Most of the categories for the selected marketplaces already have 500,000 ASINs. For a while we are going to publish these lists every Monday, but we may increase the frequency, if our users demands them more frequently.
How can you use these BSR lists?
You can use these lists in many different ways. For example, if you are a book seller, you can download the 500,000 ASIN list of the book category, and run an analysis on the list with Turbo Piranha. It gives you buy box price of the item, lowest FBA and lowest FBM offers, the ratings of the sellers, its profitability, and many more. If you can buy these books from your wholesale suppliers, or from your arbitrage sources, you can list the product on Amazon.
If you can’t get the from your suppliers, you may even want to flip the item. In other words, you can buy from a low priced FBM seller, and send the same item to FBA to sell with a higher price. As you know, usually most of the Prime Members want to buy from FBA sellers to get their items faster and most of them are okay with paying more to the same item for faster shipping. There are so many videos and blog posts about doing flip on Amazon. You can refer to these resources to learn more.
Another usage example is that if you buy your products from wholesale suppliers and sell on Amazon, you can use these lists to decide a few profitable brands which have more than one products, and you can try to contact with their distributors or wholesale suppliers. You can tell them you want to buy these products of that brand in bulk amounts. Since you buy directly from their wholesale suppliers, the cost will be lower than anything other source and your profit will be higher than ever.
What exactly 30-days, 90 days and 180 days averages are?
As you may already know that Amazon best seller rankings are so dynamic and they change instantly. If that item sells, Amazon updates its instant best seller ranking to a better value and if it does not sell for a while, its BSR decreases. In other words, if BSR of an item is always good both 30 days average and 180 days average, that means that item is always selling good. For this reason, we check these lists every day, and take their 30 days, 90 days and 180 days averages and sort by the values.
By this way, you can easily decide if an item has a good BSR for only a short period, or it’s a long-term stable product before investing it. Turbo Piranha already gives you the instant BSR value of any item, so if you want to verify that if the item is still selling good, or if there is so much competition on that item, just analyze the ASIN with Turbo Piranha and check the 220+ data points about it. We will publish a short video about using these lists efficiently, so please follow us on our social media channels to get updated.
